Integral for Nonrelativistic Quantum Electrodynamics
Abstract: The Feynman path integral for nonrelativistic quantum electrodynamics is studied mathematically of a standard model in physics, where the electromagnetic potential is assumed to be periodic with respect to a large box and quantized thorough its Fourier coefficients. In physics, the Feynman path integral for nonrelativistic quantum electrodynamics is defined very formally. For example,...
متن کاملEffective mass of nonrelativistic quantum electrodynamics
The effective mass meff of the nonrelativistic quantum electrodynamics with spin 1/2 is investigated. Let meff/m = 1 + a1(Λ/m)e + a2(Λ/m)e +O(e6), where m denotes the bare mass. a1(Λ/m) ∼ log(Λ/m) as Λ → ∞ is well known. Also a2(Λ/m) ∼ √ Λ/m is established for a spinless case. It is shown that a2(Λ/m) ∼ (Λ/m) in the case including spin 1/2.
متن کاملQuantum Electrodynamics of Confined Nonrelativistic Particles
We consider a system of finitely many nonrelativistic, quantum mechanical electrons bound to static nuclei. The electrons are minimally coupled to the quantized electromagnetic field; but we impose an ultraviolet cutoff on the electromagnetic vector potential appearing in covariant derivatives, and the interactions between the radiation field and electrons localized very far from the nuclei are...
متن کاملThermal quantum electrodynamics of nonrelativistic charged fluids.
The theory relevant to the study of matter in equilibrium with the radiation field is thermal quantum electrodynamics (TQED). We present a formulation of the theory, suitable for nonrelativistic fluids, based on a joint functional integral representation of matter and field variables. In this formalism cluster expansion techniques of classical statistical mechanics become operative. They provid...
متن کاملQuantum-classical crossover in electrodynamics
A classical field theory is proposed for the electric current and the electromagnetic field interpolating between microscopic and macroscopic domains. It represents a generalization of the density functional for the dynamics of the current and the electromagnetic field in the quantum side of the crossover and reproduces standard classical electrodynamics on the other side. The effective action ...
